Ted Blackall

Ted BlackallTed Blackall is a full-time, award-winning artist. His expressive painting style is gestural and rapid and seemingly stops time, such that the life of his subjects, their feelings, actions, and surroundings, are revealed in an almost voyeuristic manner.

Ted Blackall trained under William Frater at the The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and did post-graduate work with Fred Bates, William Grunstein, Harold Freedman, Murray Griffin, Joshua Smith, and the New York Artists League.

Blackall exhibits regularly in Australia and the United States and has taught at the prestigious art schools of Sturt University and Julian Ashton. His artwork has been commissioned by, or is in the collection of: the International Olympic Committee, Moët & Chandon, Kaiser Stuhl, and Singapore Airlines and has won Norman's Victorian Arts Society Prize, First Prize at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and the Liverpool City Council Prize, amongst others.
